Board Leadership

Drive the strategic and creative direction of Pretty Purposed, and use your connections to elevate the work.

Before applying to be a board member:

Time Commitment: 4-6 hours per month 

Meeting Schedule: Quarterly (at least two are in person)

Mentor

Girls across our communities are growing in confidence, leadership, and purpose, and mentors are a big part of that. If you're ready to show up for a girl in your community, we'd love to have you. Commitment is 4-6 hours a month to school or community based site. You may be assigned to a specific girl if extra support is needed.

How to get started

  1. Attend a MENTOR Virginia New Mentor Training, on us! Pretty Purposed will cover the cost of your training. Choose one of these Wednesday dates: October 14, November 11, or December 9. Learn more on the MENTOR Virginia events page.

  2. Attend our Pretty Purposed Volunteer Orientation on Monday, October 19th. You can attend before or after your MENTOR Virginia training. Both are required.

  3. Get matched to a site. After you complete both, we'll place you at a Pretty Purposed site based on your schedule and availability.

Why both? The MENTOR Virginia training gives you a strong foundation in safe, effective mentoring. Our orientation introduces you to Pretty Purposed, our Girl Circles, and what to expect at your site.
